Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Food Retail Manager 3 who encompasses high energy, is laser focused, creative and imaginative with a discriminatory eye for detail for our Government Services account at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - a high profile account with high expectations from our clients, clientele, and organization located in Livermore, CA.  This Food Retail Manager will be accountable for two units managing a volume of $3 million annually. The Food Service Manager will be responsible for 25 union employees so experience working in a union environment is preferred. 

 

The Food Retail Manager 3 responsibilities include driving a dynamic marketing program, maintaining food quality and customer service standards in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs.  Assist in maintenance of cash control and payroll records along with maintaining high guest satisfaction and good public relations. Staff training to include customer service, sanitation, and safe food handling. Monitoring and ensuring HACCP procedures are followed. Assist in execution of catering events. Production experience a Plus!

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous Food Retail management experience, preferably overseeing multiple high volume retail venues
  • Strong team building and employee engagement skills
  • Experience using, training and managing a Point of Sale system, cash handling
  • Eye for marketing - implementing and overseeing marketing and sales strategies to increase retail sales
  • Strong hospitality focus - be engaged and interactive with all our clients and employees
  • A Driven - self-starter relying upon themselves to "make it happen" as well as be part of a team
  • Knowledge of excel, word, POS, scheduling, food costing, ideal

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.
Key Duties
- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers. 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
