Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef to join the dynamic Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill team.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is a large health network in Pennsylvania which consists of 7 hospitals, Cancer and Heart Institutes, a Children’s Hospital, Trauma Care, ExpressCare, Intensive and Critical Care, Specialist Care and Surgery.Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill consists of 2 hospitals located in Pottsville both locations are general acute care, not-for-profit that meets the healthcare needs of the residents of Schuylkill County.Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill - East Norwegian Street is a 126-bed and Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill - South Jackson Street is a 180-bed.LVHN- Schuylkill consists of 2 patient nutrition operations, 2 retail operations, and offer catering within LVHN- Schuylkill and the surrounding community

As the Executive you will oversee both properties, but you will be at the East location primarily. You will train and develop staff, report to an Operations Manager directly, manage a total of 15-20 employees and the hours would be 7:00 – 4:00 Monday through Friday with some weekends as needed.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
