Sodexo currently has an opportunity for an Executive Chef at Morningside College located in Sioux City, Iowa. Morningside College is a private, four-year, co-educational institution with 23 buildings on a 68-acre campus in a scenic, secure residential area of Sioux City, Iowa (population 140,000) and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The College enrolls more than 1,250 full-time students. Although the majority of students hail from Iowa and Nebraska, Morningside draws students from more than 25 states and several foreign countries.

Food operations at Morningside include one "all-you-care-to-eat" resident dining hall, retail dining, coffee shop and catering. Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef will have direct oversight over culinary and mentor approximately 40-45 frontline employees in resident and retail dining.

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
- Manages food & physical safety programs.
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
