Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services/ Custodial Operations Manager 2 for Palmetto Health Bapttist Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. This facility has 413 beds.
This position will provide oversight for our evening shift operations and may require some weekends and holidays. The Operations Manager role will lead, develop, and train a team of 40 housekeepers with an emphasis on client satisfaction at all times. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous management experience in Environmental Services in a hospital or healthcare setting, a strong background with project management and floor care expertise is required. along with solid knowledge of Sodexo EVS Systems and processes including FOSS, CARES, ENGAGE, TRAKKAR, UOS, Gold Check and Black Light inspections. High energy for fast paced environment. Must be familiar with Joint Commission and Hazmat Standards and must be able to work independently.
Experience in healthcare to include a background in floor care, teletracking, computer skills, and housekeeping management. Excellent oral and written communication skills are key to managing and communicating with the clients & employees. Prior supervisory experience in healthcare setting or equivalent is ideal. We are in search of a self motivated leader with the desire to deliver outstanding results for the organization. The ability to motivate and inspire staff to exceed expectations is a desired characteristic for this manager. Must be able to drive HCAHPS results to a high level and understand patient satisfaction process. Overall, will need to motivate hourly staff and maintain cleaning quality to a very high level. Driving client engagement and patient/employee satisfaction is essential for the success of this role.

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client and regulatory requirements.
-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.
-Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence
-Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.
-Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.
-Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.
-Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
