Unit Description

Sodexo Universities has an opportunity for a Chef Manager at  Dickinson State University located in Dickinson, ND - in South Western North Dakota about 90 miles west of Bismark and 60 miles from the Montana border. Dickinson is a 4 year college that has approximately 1100 students.  The Chef Manager will oversee the culinary operations for our Resident Dining, Retail and Catering services.

 

This position will have oversight and mentor approximately 20 frontline employees including student workers. The ideal candidate must have a passion for food and innovation, help manage the food cost, have the ability to think outside of the box and will be trained in all areas of university dining: board operation/ catering/ retail/ safety standards and client relations This position requires a hands-on leader. 

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate should have:

 

  • Culinary leadership experience in a high-volume, high-quality food setting.
  • High expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • A good understanding of financials as they apply to cost controls of food and labor
  • The ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees.

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

- Handles administrative functions.
 


 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
