Sodexo Corporate Services is looking for a Catering Manager 3 to join our team at Creative Gourmet, a Sodexo off-premise catering unit located in New York, NY!  This is an opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast paced environment.  


The Catering Manager 3 will have overall responsibility for organization and execution of events.  Events range from coffee drops off for 2 to high end dinner and receptions for 5000 people. Experience with directing catering operations, Banquet Catering wait staff, buffet lines and all day break services.  This position involves a lot of client interaction and requires a hospitality driven individual.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extremely strong catering experience (3-5years in high end catering environment including solid financial acumen and deep understanding of the technical delivery aspect of catering).
  • High volume catering / banquet experience 
  • High profile and High End catering – attention to detail and providing exceptional catering service - developing creative options to fit our client's needs.
  • Ability to build and mentor a solid catering team who share same level commitment and passion to catering: quality presentation, customer service, professionalism.
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate to coordinate multiple events at a time and utilize a systems based approach to meet each event’s time-lines/specifications and quality of product.
  • have demonstrated knowledge in casual and fine dining, and banquet management.
  • have strong writing, costing, menu development and pricing skills.

Position Summary

Oversight of catering activities for a medium to large size location/unit with less than $1.5M in managed catering volume. Complex events with a high degree of hands on involvement in catering solutions.  Large amount of high profile events. Strong client interaction.
Key Duties
- Oversight of Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and use of catering programs to direct daily catering events including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
- Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the Zero Harm mindset.
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
