    Sodexo, leader in quality of life services has an immediate opening for a General Manager to oversee the Food and Nutrition Department of Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children's Hospital which is an 668 bed HCA hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Survey data for the latest year available shows that 160,542 patients visited the hospital's emergency room. The hospital had a total of 32,492 admissions. Its physicians performed 11,089 inpatient and 9,629 outpatient surgeries.  The operation has both adult and pediatric populations as inpatients, a Cafe operation with over $1M in sales, a Starbucks coffee operation, and is opening a new Freshens operation in 2018.  In addition, there is significant focus on physician dining and internal catering.  Hospital employees are client employees in a bargaining unit, while Starbucks and Freshens are full service Sodexo operations.  The account has over 100 hospital employees in addition to approximately 25 SDX frontline staff. 


    As the leader of our Food Service Team, the General Manager will be responsible for managing the department operations and financial responsibilities in addition to on-site patient services, retail café, and catering.


    Responsibilities include:

    • Implementing and maintaining Sodexo programs and practices
    • Ensuring Sodexo standards for employee training are in place and create a culture of teamwork and loyalty
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, such as food and physical safety, and menu systems
    • Coordinating department functions and standards with other managers
    • Ensuring client needs and goals are met
    • Client communication
    • Special projects

    Qualifications for this position include:

    • Proven ability to meet and exceed the unit budget
    • GM level experience in a high volume food operation; health-care environment preferred
    • Proven ability to motivate and inspire staff and participate on a management team
    • Computer literacy to achieve and maintain competence in web-driven Sodexo programs
    • Full HACCP knowledge, and Sodexo ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire
    • Prior food service management and client retention experience in a health-care environment strongly preferred
    • BS Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a Certified Dietary Manager credential

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to an account, may have multiple clients and/or satellite locations.
