Unit Description

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a full time Clinical Dietitian & Assistant Dining Manager for Longview at Ithacare, a residential living community which offers independent living, assisted living and enhanced assisted living care in a beautiful setting overlooking Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, NY. In this dual role, the ideal candidate will perform clinical dietitian responsibilities 40 percent of the time and dining management responsibilities 60 percent of the time.

 

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian with experience in long term care/sub-acute rehab.
  • Have management experience in a dining hall or foodservice operation
  • Provide nutritional care for the Assisted Living and Enhanced Assisted Living Residents
  • Provide nutrition education events for all Longview tenants and residents
  • Have experience with electronic charting and the NCP
  • Meet DOH/state/federal and company standards.
  • Represent the Food & Nutrition Department as the primary liaison with the medical and nursing staff.
  • Be an integral part of the Sodexo food service management team and provide support to the Director of Dining
  • Manage dining staff including assisting with hiring, training and payroll
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with seniors to make every day a better day for our clients and residents.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
Key Duties
-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
