Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Services Manager 1 for Carolinas Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Carolinas HealthCare System located in Charlotte, NC.  The Patient Service Manager will report to the General Manager and will be responsible for day to day oversight of patient food service satisfaction and operational effectiveness. Relocation assistance is offered as part of the competitive compensation package to HIRE ONLY THE BEST!

The Patient Service Manager will directly supervise 60 employees.  This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the planning and implementation of Sodexo programs and systems to drive patient satisfaction in a high-volume account.  

 

Additional Job Responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversees and is responsible for the success of the Patient Services area, patient food service production and guest relations/diet attendants and the patient call center.
  • Ensures the foundational requirements of the room service program are being followed
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of meals, nourishments, and snacks to patients.
  • Conducts patient rounding with patients and nurses and works with hospital dietitians on patient nutritional needs.
  • Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing the implementation of those initiatives.
  • Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward both clients and customers.
  • Integrate fully within our client’s organization by becoming a trusted adviser with a customer service focus.
  • Responsible for driving patient satisfaction results.
  • Regularly analyzes patient satisfaction data, financial results, and implements additional measurements and action plans in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.
  • Completes required departmental reporting, including financial reports and analysis.
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Must meets (or exceed) Sodexo standards of operations.
  • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 2 years as a patient services or clinical nutrition manager with proven results for patient satisfaction, implementation, and development of teams and individuals
  • Have demonstrated team building and leadership skills
  • Have a track record of proactive interaction with the medical team, be an outstanding team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Have prior experience with Sodexo food-service management a plus

Position Summary

Provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.
Key Duties
- Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

- Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

- Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

- Performs audits and prepares reports
