    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Retail Manager 2 to provide operational leadership at St. John's Hospital, a progressive acute care Hospital located in Maplewood, Minnesota. St. John's Hospital is a member of the HealthEast/ Fairview System. This position will lead the front of the house operations in the full service cafeteria, direct the catering program, and be the lead manager with the unit cash handling system. In  addition to the responsibility of managing the cafeteria and catering services, this position will also support the patient room service system and food production.  The Retail Manager 2 position is a member of the East Region Food Production team.  The Food Production team creates menus, implements special events, and insures a stellar food experience to our patients, guests and staff.

     

    The best qualified candidates will have:

    • Strong retail food service experience in a restaurant or healthcare food service setting
    • Cash handling experience
    • Experience with catering
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to manage and develop a team of 10 front-line staff

    Position Summary

    Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.
    Key Duties
    - Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
    - Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
    - Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
    - Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
    - Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
    - Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers. 
     

     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
    Basic Management Experience - 1 year
