Unit Description

Sodexo Healthcare is seeking a  Registered Dietitian to come join their dynamic clinical team at Portneuf Medical Center, located in Pocatello, ID. Portneuf Medical Center is a 187-bed acute care hospital providing world class health care in collaboration with other community and regional providers.



Reporting to the General Manager, this Registered Dietitian will:

  • Have at least 1 year prior experience in an acute care setting and be flexible and willing to work in all areas of the hospital
  • Have experience with electronic medical records (EMR) charting and utilizing the Nutrition Care Process; Prior Room Service experience would be helpful
  • Be able to work well with physicians, nursing, ancillary staff; to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently and be outcome focused;
  • Be responsible for conducting nutrition care and patient assessments to the patient population with a variety of disease states as needed;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Have good time management skills and be a self-starter

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
Key Duties
-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
