As a Consumer Facing Point of Sale Technology Analyst we are looking for candidates who can perform in the following areas:

  • Analyzes and develops functional and technical specifications for the integration and development of applications for the Point-Of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Gather requirements from internal business partners and translates the requirements to specifications to be used by the various Sodexo teams.
  • Ability to create workflows, test cases and technical documentation
  • Prepares required system documentation (functional and technical, operational procedures)
  • Develops SLA metric reports for front end solutions
  • Supports IS&T technical and deployment support activities related to front end processes associated with the NORAM Food & Retail Systems strategy (i.e. POS, Digital Signage, Kiosks, Mobile Ordering Technologies, etc.)
  • Evaluates technical solutions which meet operational, reporting, client, and business needs
  • Develops use cases for functional test development
  • Orchestrates regression testing of new releases
  • Performs IS&T support of User Acceptance process for new functionality/releases
  • Provides Level 3 Support Functions for front end Food & Retail Systems
  • On a strategic level, evaluate new technology for potential fit within Sodexo Retail Systems environment  


  • Provides 24x7 on-call Level 3 support as part of a rotating on-call schedule
  • Acts as part of the Food & Retail team to ensure SLA’s are met and to ensure high availability of mission critical systems
  • Analyzes process improvements related to front end Food & Retail System landscape to IS&T Management
  • Analyzes integration opportunities related to front end Food & Retail System landscape
  • Develops detailed functional and technical specifications based on communication with the business.
  • Prepares reports to communicate functional design, detailed design, entity relation diagrams, data flow diagrams, general processing instructions, testing recommendations, documentation recommendations, system limitations, and miscellaneous other internal documentation.
  • Supports QA and Rollout phases of the project by developing and executing test cases, UAT plans, verifying acceptance criteria and providing training and training documentation as required
  • Supports both functional and integrated testing to ensure quality standards are attained.
  • Develops and Reviews user documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Attends review meetings to assist in identifying design issues that will improve unit operations productivity and product quality.
  • Participate in process assessment programs and make recommendations to improve software support methods. 

Do you have what it takes?

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years’ experience in retail environment or technical support  
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong Communication, Negotiation and Organization Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Experience with the design, development and implementation of enterprise-class Food & Retail Systems including Point of Sale devices and associated peripherals

Position Summary

Formulates/defines system scope and objectives based on user defined needs. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis. Also has duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other systems analysis personnel. Responsible for quality assurance review. Acts as project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
