Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for Ithaca College, located in Ithaca, NY. Ithaca College is a private, nonsectarian, coeducational liberal arts college located on the South Hill of Ithaca, New York. Located roughly halfway between Manhattan and Toronto, this thriving, culturally diverse city of 30,000 combines small-town warmth and charm with cosmopolitan flair. Relocation offered!
The successful candidate has strong organizational skills and problem solving abilities and will manage multiple and competing priorities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with stellar communication skills and excellent client relations and team-building abilities. The Chef Manager will focus on lunch, dinner and late dinner meals. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this Manager is responsible for the daily culinary operations including food safety, physical safety, culinary training and will support with various culinary projects within our dining operation.
The best qualified candidate will have the following:
- Prior culinary and culinary management experience
- Experience training and developing a culinary staff
- Experience with food ordering and on-line systems (FMS)
- Experience with HACCP protocols and food safety/sanitation
- Menu writing/planning
- Excellent organization and task management abilities
- Experience controlling food and labor costs
- Computer skills
- A culinary degree
