    Sodexo’s university segment is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for St. Mary of the Woods located in beautiful St. Mary of the Woods,  Indiana.

    Sodexo's long tenured partnership with St. Mary of the Woods has existed for over 50 years!!  St. Mary's is a small Private college with residential dining, Starbucks We Proudly Serve and a Snack Station.  We are heavy in our creative catering ($550K annually).  We offer a popular Sunday brunch that is open to the public and cater many amazing weddings in our two ballrooms on campus. Keeping up with culinary trends is a must for this Chef position!  Reporting to the GM, this position will oversee a staff of up to 40 Sodexo associates and 2 supervisors.

    • All daily operations in the kitchen
    • Full integration with our client's organization becoming a trusted adviser and member of the accounts leadership team
    • Achieving company and client financial targets and goals
    • Work to achieve continuous improvement
    • Ensuring Sodexo standards of operations
    • Position develops positive relationships with key representatives at the University and delivers guest services that exceed customer expectations

    Do you have?

    • Strong culinary/executive chef background
    • Catering experience from casual to upscale VIP experience
    • Extensive interaction with the campus clients and with external clients. Strong client relations is the key to success at this account!
    • Work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work in teams

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
