    Sodexo, leader in quality of life services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead the award-winning culinary team at the hospital rated best in Arkansas for 5 years in a row, CHI St. Vincent Infirmary. CHI St. Vincent Health System, founded in 1888, continues the legacy of care established by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Today, CHI St. Vincent Infirmary has 442 licensed beds and has a reputation for excellence specializing in Heart Care, Neurosciences, Cancer, Orthopaedics, Urology.


    The successful Executive Chef 2 will have prior experience managing high volume/large scale culinary operations to include patient/resident dining programs, retail food service experience, and both low and high-end catering. This Executive Chef will create elegant and health conscious culinary experiences that exceed client expectations while enhancing client program objectives. 


    We are seeking Executive Chef Candidates with proven results in the following areas:


    Culinary Creativity: Follows culinary trends and innovates with health, and nutrition in mind. Must be able to translate ideas into unique menus and recipe programs.


    Leadership: Ability to effectively manage and communicate with FOH Catering Management and Staff, Culinary Staff, and Key Hospital Personnel. Must have a passion and dedication to be the best. Candidate must be highly engaged and extremely hands-on in day to day operations.


    Training: Must be able to articulate and demonstrate a wide ranging variety of cooking techniques and skills for the staff (food presentation, quality, safety, proper culinary techniques). Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages a team.


    The Ideal Candidate will have:


    • Large scale culinary experience;
    • Strong culinary background with experience in health and nutrition;
    • Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution, menu design & implementation;
    • Focus on customer service excellence as well as wellness and sustainability initiatives
    • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of staff and student employees;
    • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation, HACCP and production records;
    • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets;
    • Understanding of food allergens and special dietary needs;
    • High level of computer literacy skill-set and strong analytical skills.

    Reporting to the General Manager the Executive chef will be responsible for all aspects of the culinary program and have additional operational responsibilities as well.  Coupled with prior management level experience in a hospital environment, our ideal candidate will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional culinary experience and a very creative mindset as well as demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
