Sodexo is currently seeking a high performing Sous Chef to utilize creative and extensive culinary background for CHI St. Luke's Medical Center in Lufkin, TX. CHI St. Luke's is a 179-bed acute-care hospital. This position will report directly to the Executive Chef. The position requires food safety certification, HACCP knowledge, ordering food and supplies, food preparation, supervision of culinary team, monitoring of food production,catering skills, client interactions, creativity and innovations.
The successful candidate should have some culinary and food management skills. Preferred candidate should have at least 2 years experience in the Healthcare production management. Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of food production employees. It is a plus if the Sous Chef is familiar with Sodexo Menu systems and tools. Must possess the passion to train Cooks and team members to the use of Sodexo tools and programs as well as HACCP, food safety, and techniques of culinary production. Some travel will be required. Hours will vary according to current needs.
Leads food preparation at one station of a foodservice operation (i.e., salads, soups). May supervise less than two full time employees.
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
