Sodexo is seeking a Pastry Chef for  Belmont University located in Nashville, Tennessee. Belmont University is a show case account with a new state of the art facility that will give you the tools to excell. Relocation assistance  is available with this position. 

 

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train bakery employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong Pastry background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high volume facility

Position Summary

Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
