     Sodexo is looking for an Executive Chef 2 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX

    Sodexo is looking for an executive chef looking to grow their career in suburban hospital in TX that is part of a Major Healthcare organization.  Responsibilities will include scheduling and training of 8 cooks, implementation of Sodexo's menus and menu systems, catering, purchasing, food cost control, and customer satisfaction improvement.  Knowledge of Sodexo's menu systems and "EFY dining service" is a plus, and dedication to training and excellence a must!

     

    Reporting to our General Manager, the Executive Chef will lead the culinary team and will plan, organize and manage the daily food production in the hospital. 

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • Managing food production including production planning and controls for patient dining, cafe and catering services
    • Ensuring Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance, food safety and food quality
    • Labor and food cost controls and compliance
    • Ordering and inventory management
    • Menu development 

    The best qualified candidate will be food safety certified/HACCP knowledge, experience with ordering food and supplies, food production skills, ability to manage a team of 32 Baptist Hospital staff, ability to control food and labor costs, catering experience, excellent client and customer interactions skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evenings.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
