Are you an entry level accountant with retail experience?  

 

Sodexo has a new opening for an entry level accountant in the Revenue Accounting department at our Financial Shared Services Center located in Cheektowaga, NY which handles the accounting for our North American Operations.  Within the center there are many departments and positions so there’s opportunities for growth & advancement.

 

This role will work a hybrid schedule averaging three days in the office and two days from home plus 10 work from anywhere days- this is on top of vacation, holidays and personal days.

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Work pro-actively with units to detect, correct and prevent on going reporting problems ensuring proper revenue recognition with focus on root cause elimination.
  • Reconciliation of Assigned General Ledger Accounts
  • Responsible for the successful update and maintenance of Revenue Accounting System changes to ensure proper functionality and system documentation
  • Centralize mobile application reporting
  • Enterprise Retail System reconciliation
  • Enterprise Revenue Audits
  • Documenting and training of new Unit programs and initiatives
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and research
  • Key member of team for enterprise projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain current work instructions and articles on company intranet and IT help guides
  • Back up Sales Audit & Balance Sheet accountant responsibilities

Position Summary

Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Performs routine assignments. Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline typically acquired through a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.
