Hershey Medical Center in Hershey PA is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 (of RETAIL and Patient Dining).  Will help oversee patient feeding and the Tree House Cafe.

    • Position is for the oversight of the Food Services for The Children's Hospital at Hershey Medical Center
    • Retail Outlet in the Children's Hospital is the Tree House Cafe. The Tree House Cafe is open 7 days per week and the annual retail volume is approximately $600,000.00
    • Patient Dining is also managed out of the Tree House kitchen.  Approximately 90 patients for each meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
    • Will manage approximately 9 FT employees and 5 part time employees.

This position is responsible for delivering Sodexo procedures and directing all food service operations. The best qualified candidate will be a self-starter with stellar communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. We are looking for an individual with a background in a retail setting.  May assit with other Retail Outlets. Union environment.


Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Cash handling/management
  • Working with unit financial reporting/budgets
  • Training & development of staff
  • Direct customer and client interaction
  • HR functions (recruiting, interviewing, disciplinary)
  • Ensuring quality standards and compliance with HACCP guidelines

Position Summary

Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Duties
- Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment
- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
- Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory
- Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent     

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
