  • Unit Description

    Sodexo has an opportunity for a Dietitian at a 517-bed adult hospital and 154-bed children’s hospital in Augusta, GA.  

     

    Augusta University Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma hospital with 68 adult critical care beds (Trauma, MICU, SICU, Neurology ICU and Cardiac ICU).  

     

    The Dietitian will:

     

    • Primarily cover adult inpatients,
    • Cross-train to provide coverage to pediatrics, as are all the dietitians.
    • Have excellent communication and customer service skills,
    • Have a track record of proactive interaction with the medical team,
    • Be an outstanding team player with strong demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Have familiarity with Cerner medical records is also a plus.
    • Be highly motivated and have a desire to work with high-acuity patients.
    • Have experience writing parenteral nutrition orders a plus.   

     

     Licensure in GA is required before starting in this role.

    Position Summary

    Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
    Key Duties
    -Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
    -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
    -Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
    -Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
    -Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
    -Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

    Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
