    Sodexo at Adams State - a liberal arts university in Alamosa, CO - is looking for a RESOURCE (temporary) Executive Chef to assist the General Manager in the day to day operation of the Resident Dining hall, serving over 554 students on meal plans through multiple stations.  Alamosa is a small diverse community on the Rio Grande River.   Typical shift for the Executive Chef will be Sunday to Thursday 10 am to 7 pm with occasional weekends. 

    The ideal candidate has proven culinary skills and will have:

    • Previous or current Sodexo kitchen management experience or experience in other high-volume environments:  college, hospital or corporate business segments, banquet/hotel.
    • Strong "culinary chops" and ability to ensure high volume, high quality food production.
    • Solid understanding of production systems and ability to learn Sodexo proprietary systems for ordering and inventory:  Food Management, Labor Management, as well as HAACP food and physical safety.
    • Seeking bilingual candidates – the ability to speak Spanish would be helpful in managing this workforce.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution

    -Manages food & physical safety program.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
