    Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 for Methodist Hospital, a 348 licensed bed, a Medicare 5-Star rated hospital, located in the Arcadia, CA. Sodexo provides best in class services for patient dining, retail café operations, physicians lounge and catering at this outstanding account.


    As a Food Operations Manager, you will be directing and participating in all of the daily operations for  for patient meals, full-service cafe, and catering operations.


    Responsibilities will include:


    • Cash handling/management;
    • Creating and tracking financial reporting and processing invoices
    • Managing and creating the marketing and signage for all retail concepts
    • Training and development of staff
    • Heavy customer interaction and visibility to customers
    • Supervising up to 25 non-union hourly associates
    • Managing day to day operational administrative tasks.


    The successful candidate will possess:

    • Experience in a fast paced retail environment, preferably in a healthcare setting
    • Experience and knowledge in managing in a profit and loss budget with proven ability to control food cost within the department.
    • Knowledge of current health and wellness culinary concepts.
    • Knowledge of retail strategies that provide innovation and contribute to account revenue and operating profit.
    • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills,
    • Previous supervisory experience.
    • Strong leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while fostering strong client and customer relationships.
    • Strong understanding of retail marketing concepts and strategies,
    • Able to manage and execute multiple priorities, and will ideally have a project management experience.
    • Experience with Sodexo systems, strong financial acumen and proficient computer skills.
    • Seeking bilingual candidates; the ability to speak Spanish language will assist in managing this workforce

    Position Summary

    Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
    Key Duties
    - Establishes a safe work environment

    - Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

    - Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

    - Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

    - Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

    - Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies



    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
