    Sodexo at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital is currently seeking a high performing Chef Manager to work for the fifth largest hospital within the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, Texas.

    Southeast has 300 licensed beds and an average daily census of 230.  Our campus has one of the busiest emergency rooms in the system, an outpatient tower, two professional buildings, and a brand new cardiovascular service line.  Southeast has been recognized for press ganey results in the system for many years.

     

    The Chef Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the food production for the Southeast campus of Memorial Hermann.  This includes food quality and appearance, HACCP procedures, food delivery and service, and employee engagement.  Proven experience leading teams in team building and a drive for process improvement are a must for this position.  This is an exceptional opportunity for growth and exposure in the Houston, TX healthcare market and partnering with the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System.


    The Chef Manager will have skills to conduct inventory, place orders, develop menus, and provide training to the kitchen staff while holding the team and yourself accountable. The ability to handle multiple priorities and stress under pressure is a definite. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the ideal candidate for this position will have experience respectfully supervising, supporting the production functions of kitchen staff, the ability to motivate employees to continually improve performance and outcomes with a passion for preparing and executing outstanding dining experiences. The adherence to proper food handling and proper safety programs and a working knowledge of web-based programs is critical to the success of this position.

    • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
    • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
    • manage food cost, controls and compliance;
    • develop menus and manage inventory;
    • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
    • have the ability and willingness to develop and train front-line employees;
    • have a passion for food and innovation;
    • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and
    • Knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.

    Position Summary

    Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables.  May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
    Basic Management Experience - 1 year
