Job #75542 - Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager (I) for Asbury Place Kingsport Steadman Hill in Kingsport, Tennessee. This is a 200 Resident Continuing Care Retirement Community; Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Skilled Care. We are located off I-81 within 90 minutes of Knoxville, TN in the Tri-city area; Kingsport, Johnson City, Bristol. Our services include the neighborhood model with the focus on resident driven meal choices. We also provide some catering.
In this role you manage front of the house operations and our 5 Star Dining Program for 46 Residents in Steadman Hill, Assisted Living facility that is part of the Kingsport CCRC Community. In addition, train and develop 7 wait staff employees and interact daily with residents and clients to provide exceptional customer service and program enhancements. You will also assist with employee scheduling and work closely with the dining services team and other department heads; coordinating the delivery and service of daily meals and assisting with the set up and service of catered events.

Computer skills Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook
Servsafe Certified and knowledge of HACCP monitors
A flexible leadership style for a multigenerational workplace
Experience; retirement community / country club / fine dining
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) would be ideal!
Typical schedule; 8am-4:30pm with rotating weekends & holidays

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
- Establishes a safe work environment
- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
