    Sodexo Universities is seeking an experienced Conference Services Manager to manage our conference operations at Marymount University, located in Arlington, VA! 


    Marymount is a Catholic University on the outskirts of Washington DC. The Conference Services Manager will oversee the conference services for the University working in conjunction with the units Catering Manager and AV manager to handle all aspects of booking meeting rooms for both the Main Campus and Ballston Campus.


    The ideal candidate must possess strong management skills in a conference services area; strong customer relations skills with the ability to handle multiple events for executive level customers; strong written and verbal communication skills; a strong working knowledge of the conferencing industry; and attention to detail as all events have a high standard client expectation level.


    Key Responsibilities: 

    • This HANDS ON manager will provide flawless execution of events and providing a high level of customer service to our clients; accountable for staff scheduling, event planning assistance, ordering, cost control
    • Capable of motivating, training and developing the front of house team with a strong focus on service and safety standards
    • Oversees scheduling of staff, day-to-day activities, with high level of priority on quality client service 

    We are looking for candidates who can:

    • identify internal/external customer needs and expectations;
    • ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met;
    • educate and develop rapport with internal/external customers and promote partnerships;
    • promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs; and
    • coordinate all unit catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results.

    The ideal candidate will have the following:

    • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment, while remaining composed and patient in front of customers
    • Has 2+ years’ experience in conference service management /coordination
    • Solid organizational skills that allow for oversight of various, ever-changing schedules
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong client/customer service skills and experience working with catering/AV department and others to deliver excellent service
