    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 for Winthrop University in Beautiful Upstate South Carolina,  About 25 miles away from Charlotte.

    As the Executive Chef 2  your responsibilities for this hands-on role will include menu planning, food prep, inventory management, purchasing, food & labor costing, scheduling, safety/sanitation & catering processes. In this position you will have direct customer and client interaction.  

    Reporting to the Executive Chef 3, the Executive Chef 2 will have oversight of all the BOH training and safety for the culinary team.

     

    We are looking for candidates who will:

    • Take a hands on approach to managing the  food production including production planning and controls while ensuring Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality.
    • Manage food costing, controls and compliance.
    • Development of menu's.
    • Have high expectations for customer service and quality of food.
    • Have ability and willingness to develop, train front-line employees.
    • Have knowledge of special diets and allergens

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
