    Sodexo has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Chef 2 with the Food & Nutrition Services’ Team at Presence Saint Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, IL

     

    The ideal candidate for this Executive Chef position will have:

     

    • Strong culinary leadership skills in an acute care environment
    • Solid food production experience including experience with ordering and inventory
    • Proven employee relationship skills and successful customer service and team-building skills 
    • Experience in supporting "At Your Request"  (AYR) patient room services or similar programs
    • Proficiency with Sodexo’s Food Management System (FMS) or similar programs
    • Branded retail formats and experience with customer health & wellness through programs
    • Ability to manage and develop a team of 15 front-line staff
    • ServSafe Certification is preferred

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
