    Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to come join their dynamic clinical team at PIH Health Hospital – Downey and located in Downey, California. This is a non-profit community-based hospital, part of the PIH Health system with 199 licensed beds and averaging a census of 85. This position is scheduled for a flexible 24 hour week would include some weekends and some holiday coverage. This position is eligible for the Sodexo benefits package.




    Reporting to Clinical Nutrition Manager the Ideal candidate will:

    • Have at least one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care setting 
    • share responsibility for providing nutrition care to the general population with a variety of disease states
    • Have prior experience with the nutrition care process and electronic health records charting and will perform nutrition assessments with in patients and provide nutrition education
    • have excellent communication skills in working with both the Sodexo team and the respective healthcare team 
    • work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently and be outcome focused
    • Maintain excellent time management skills, be a self-starter and work well with others and be a team player

    Position Summary

    Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
    Key Duties
    -Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
    -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
    -Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
    -Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.
    -Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
    -Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

    Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
