Sodexo is seeking a talented Executive Chef-2 to join our Dining Team at Channing House in Palo Alto, CA. The Executive Chef will lead a team of 30 Culinary team members and manage multiple on-site dining rooms and one bistro.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an Executive Chef to provide leadership and oversight at Channing House, a CCRC Senior Living Community in Palo Alto, CA. This position is for a high-level Executive Chef, with experience in Fine Dining restaurants, country clubs, or resort settings. Channing House offers its residents a white table cloth full-service dining experience. The Executive Chef is responsible for developing a menu that focuses on nutrition and industry trends, with a strong focus on the Northern Californian fare.
The Executive Chef 2 will be responsible for improving food quality in the small external units, BOH operations to include but not limited to inventory, production, HAACP, safety and ordering and overseeing production and presentation of food. The Executive Chef 2 will have administrative responsibility for staff training, scheduling, and menu planning. This position is a hands-on position where food safety and presentation are critical.

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
- Manages food & physical safety programs.
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
