    Sodexo is hiring an Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 1 for Roswell Park Cancer Institute located in Buffalo, New York.  This long term Sodexo account is a NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer treatment and research facility. Founded in 1898 as the nation’s first cancer center, Roswell Park set the standard for today’s multidisciplinary approach to the highest quality cancer care. This is a 2nd shift opportunity (2:30PM start time) and will require some occasional weekends and holidays.


    In this role, you will oversee daily operations in various parts of the hospital and 12 Research Buildings on campus. You will lead a team of up to 30 union employees and will have responsibility for the cleaning of patient and non-patient areas including discharge cleaning, OR suites, and several clinic areas. Some responsibilities may include; quality assurance  inspections, training/coaching, scheduling, rounding and project work. Driving patient and customer satisfaction is essential for the success of this role. 


    Preferred candidates will have previous Environmental Services/Custodial Management OR Supervisory experience in the hospitality industry along with excellent customer service and communication skills. Seeking strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

    Position Summary

    Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.
    Key Duties
    -Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.
    -Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees
    -Coordinate/conduct employee training
    -Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)
    -Interact with outside vendors
    -Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.
    -Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified.
    -Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments.



    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
