Sodexo has openings for two entry level Accountants.  One in our Contract Compliance & Licensing department and another in our Contract Management Accounting Department at our Financial Shared Services Center located in Cheektowaga, NY which handles the accounting for our North American Operations.  Within the center there are many departments and positions so there’s opportunities for growth & advancement.


The roles will work a hybrid schedule averaging three days in the office and two days from home plus 10 work from anywhere days- this is on top of vacation, holidays and personal days.

The successful candidates will:

  • Provide timely and accurate reviews of accounting system (SAP) setups based on contract documents, maintains multiple contract-related databases, ensures accurate accounting treatment for IFRS standards, and supports the financial close process.
  • Consistently apply objective accounting judgment to knowledge of contractual agreements & company policy
  • Interpret contract language to ensure proper setup in SAP to produce accurate accounting treatment, including revenue recognition and billing
  • Maintain company databases to support detailed analysis regarding contract attributes, inflation, and risks and rewards
  • Assist with providing supporting documents for external audit requests
  • Support the financial close process
  • Lead projects with guidance

Position Summary

Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Performs routine assignments. Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline typically acquired through a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.
