  • Unit Description


    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian with demonstrated experience in an outpatient setting at Munson Medical Center. Pediatrics experience is a plus. This is a full time benefits eligible position.   


    The selected candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:  


    • Be an RD with experience in pediatrics and a desire to become CSP.
    • Provides medical nutrition therapy, nutrition services and education integrated with the patient's medical goals. 
    • Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of hospitalized patients and outpatients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
    • Documents nutrition assessment, history and progress in the EMR.  Completes all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Provides nutrition consultations as ordered by physicians.
    • Demonstrates accurate knowledge of nutrition care therapies and the appropriate use by age group.  This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric patients and the general patient population.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic diets and diet modifications to formulate treatment plans and make clinical judgments involving nutrition therapy, and to insure appropriate monitoring and delivery of therapeutic diets for patients. 
    • Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team and all professional services.
    • Maintains client centered care with internal and external customers.
    • Supports the hospital food and nutrition program services adhering to current federal, state and organizational guidelines and regulations.
    • Offers input and feedback for new and different food products, enteral and parental nutrition products, supplies and equipment.
    • Assists with providing regular in-service education and training programs for food service and clinical nutrition staff to meet regulatory standards and established nutrition formulary requirements (Nutrition Care Manual).
    • Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.

    This position may require travel to other system facilities.

    Position Summary

    Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition services
    Key Duties
    -Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
    -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
    -Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
    -Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary.
    -Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
    -Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..



    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

    Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
