    Sodexo currently has an opportunity for a General Manager 5 at the Medical University of South Carolina, a 750 -bed academic medical center located in Charleston, SC.  Historic Charleston is known for its rich history, well-preserved architecture, distinguished restaurants, mannerly people, bursting southern charm and hospitality.

     

    This General Manager will be responsible for day to day oversight of retail, catering, patient food service satisfaction, and the operational effectiveness at Ashley River Tower, a $4.8 Million Dollar full service P&L blue chip account. This 250-bed hospital located on the MUSC campus offers At Your request Dining, a full service cafeteria, Subway, licensed Starbucks and catered events.  The manager will also have responsibility for operational effectiveness at the newly opened Children's Ambulatory Care Center.

     

     Additional Responsibilities: 

    • Oversees 50+ employees in the department
    • Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing the implementation.
    • Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward both clients and customers.
    • Integrate fully within our client’s organization by becoming a trusted adviser with a customer service focus.
    • Responsible for driving patient satisfaction results by regularly analyzes patient satisfaction data and implements a plan of action in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.
    • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
    • Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo standards of operations.
    • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.

    • Have extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with FMS, Kronos, “At Your Request” patient meal service, Cater Trax, Retail Ranger and Service Depot, Market Connection, and Halo
    • Have extensive experience with Sodexo Food & Physical Safety standards
    • Exhibits “Drive & Dependability”.
    • Deliver superior results by directing and motivating a team of managers and employees to complete assigned responsibilities while delivering exceptional customer service

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
    Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
