    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef (II) for Asbury Place Kingsport Baysmont in Kingsport, Tennessee. This is a 200 Resident Continuing Care Retirement Community housing Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Skilled Care residents. We're seeking someone with high end culinary experience, a strong understanding of Food Safety and a passion for the culinary arts with a focus on continuous process improvement. This community is part of a Sodexo Blue Chip CCRC system and this is a rewarding opportunity for high end culinary creativity and presentation.


    We are seeking a Chef with: a strong culinary background, demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest culinary standards, 


    In this role you manage; food production planning and controls, ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards, HACCP protocols, recipe compliance and food quality, monitor food & labor costs controls, develop menus, and manage inventory.  The ideal candidate has; high expectations for customer service and quality of food, the ability and enthusiasm to develop and train frontline employees, have a passion for food and innovation, have knowledge of special diets and allergens, and knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) or similar programs.

    Culinary Degree / Trade School Certificate and Servsafe Certificate

    Typical schedule; 7am-4pm / 10am-8pm with some weekends & holidays

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
