    Sodexo Campus Dining has an opportunity for an Executive Chef 2 at William Penn University located in Oskaloosa, IA    William Penn has a student enrollment of 1000 students, of which 600 reside on campus and eat in a newly remodeled dining hall.  Catering and concessions have become an important part of our daily business without losing focus on our students.

    As a hands-on Executive Chef, you will provide innovative, exciting and appealing cooking and catering for students, faculty and staff. This individual will come highly recommended as a skilled and experienced culinarian with a passion for food and the drive to be successful.


    Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal Executive Chef candidate will possess the following:

    • high-volume, quality-focused culinary management experience, preferably within a campus dining setting;
    • exemplary communication skills with the ability to lead a large team;
    • strong organizational skills -detail-oriented and task focused;
    • a very hands-on cooking and training approach
    • experience in successfully controlling food and labor costs.
    • srong computer skills; and
    • strong HACCP training skills.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
