    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Retail Manager - Starbucks to join our highly skilled team at Loyola Marymount University in sunny Los Angeles CA.  LMU is a prestigious showcase venue in dining. Managing a uniquely styled restaurant & outdoor sports venue operation, this successful Retail Manager will be joining a team of talented professionals in a very fast paced & high energy environment.  In this role for Starbucks Management you will lead a brigade of baristas in a union environment and focus on PPV Business meetings with Starbucks District Managers This position is a very hands-on role interacting and coordinating with BOH staff as well, flexibility with schedule is important.     The Retail Manager will lead, train, support & develop a diverse team, while ensuring to uphold corporate standards, sustainability initiatives & customer service excellence.  This Retail Manager will be responsible for financials, cost controls, ordering and receiving, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling hourly staff.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Have previous Sodexo retail management experience in a high-volume environment, familiar with Sodexo systems and  processes OR 2 - 4 years management experience in a large restaurant, QSR or franchise with multiple venues
    • Have cash handling management experience
    • Have strong organizational skills and be a “Go-Getter” attitude and be able to handle the fast-paced environment of a large food service operation.
    • Be a visionary, always thinking towards the future: what can we do different next semester, next spring, allwhile handling the day to day food retail operations
    • Have a strong hospitality focus and be engaged and interacting with our clients, students, faculty and employees.

    We are looking for candidates who will manage:

    • Frontline staff
    • Cash handing process
    • Department HACCP and safety programs for regulatory compliance
    • Frontline training programs
    • Opening and closing the operation
    • Daily operation standards

    Position Summary

    Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.
    Key Duties
    - Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.
    - Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
    - Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
    - Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
    - Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
    - Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers. 

     

     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
