    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 1 for Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico - 2 hours from Las Cruces NM and 3 hours from Tucson AZ ** RELOCATION ASSISTANCE available for this opportunity!  ** Our successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of culinary creativity, financial acumen and excellent customer engagement skills.  Have you increased customer satisfaction survey results while providing the WOW factor for your customers?  WNMU Campus consists of Resident Dining for 250 students on meal plans, enjoying our expanding Retail Dining and our growing Catering departments. Great long-term account with tremendous clients.  Catering and resident dining experience a must.  WMNU is located in the beautiful mountains  of Southwest New Mexico with great areas for hiking and fishing just north in the Gila National Forest.

    • Manage the daily food production including production planning and controls
    • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
    • Manage food costing, controls and compliance
    • Develop menus and manage inventory
    • Have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
    • Have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees
    • Have a passion for food and innovation
    • Have knowledge of special diets and allergens
    • Knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred

    The ideal candidate has:

    • A strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
    • Previous experience working in a high-volume facility
    • Strong management skills

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
