    Sodexo has an opportunity for a General Manager 4 for Minnesota State University located in Moorhead, MN.  MSU/Moorhead is a long standing University account with a Resident Dining (1900 students on meal plans), multiple Food Retail Concepts, and Catering operations all totalling $4.8M in managed volume.  The GM will have 5 managers and 110  associates.  Our clients' expectations are extremely high in the areas of marketing, catering, innovation, and customer service.

    The ideal candidate will have the following preferred skills/experience:

    • Previous food service leadership experience in a college/university setting, preferably in a general manager role.
    • Experience directing other salaried managers and hourly staff.
    • Experience managing a unionized work force.
    • Strong financial acumen; experience writing and managing budgets.
    • Experience with resident dining, retail and catering programs preferred.
    • Student focused, Customer-driven and strong track record of organizational development.
    • Project management background.
    • Proven client relations skills.

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
    Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree
