    Sodexo is looking for a General Manager 4 in Brooklyn, NY

     

    Sodexo is seeking a Food General Manager 4 for a 300 bed acute care  hospital located in Brooklyn, NY. In this highly visible lead role, you will direct and participate in all of the daily food contract operations.  As the General Manager you will need to high strong communication skills with both the staff and our clients.This account has no retail operations and is utilizing the standard patient tray line operations with a Cook/Chill meal delivery system. In this role we would like someone with previous experience in Health-care. A CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) is a plus!! and proven Press Ganey Results. 

     

    Responsibilities will include:

    • working with unit financial/budgets,
    • strategic planning,
    • HR functions,
    • training and development of both a management and hourly staff,
    • ensuring HACCP compliance,
    • direct client interaction and supervision of 5 Sodexo managers and 60 union hourly associates.

     

    The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years lead food management experience in a health-care environment, a solid financial acumen, the ability to develop and engage both a management and hourly staff, a strong working knowledge of food operations in a health-care setting as well as excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills. Prior experience managing a union workforce would be a plus.

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
    Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree           

    Basic Management Experience - 5 years              

    Basic Functional Experience - 5 years
