    Sodexo in seeking a highly motivated Facilities/Engineering Manager I to support Millard Public Schools in Omaha, Nebraska.  This is a vital position providing management support to a team of 25 employees who service 38 campus locations in the Omaha area.

    Key Responsibilities:


    Under the direction of the General Manager, the Facilities/Engineering Manager, provides the coordination of all functions and activities of the Facilities Management Departments, including Engineering, Plant Operations, and Facilities Management in a public schools setting. The Facilities/Engineering Manager will assume overall responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning, maintenance and operation of all buildings, equipment, machinery and systems Will coordinate and is professionally responsible for the proper installation, operation and maintenance of uninterrupted light, heat, power, water, and monitoring systems of all health system buildings and services.  Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and regulatory agencies, efficiency of services and delivery of optimal customer service.

    • Plans, improves, and maintains owned and leased facilities and equipment.
    • Work independently to prioritize, schedule and coordinate multiple activities while ensuring that all quality, safety and regulatory standards are met.
    • Responsible for operation and maintenance of chillers, air handlers, make up air, condensing units, VAV systems, emergency generator, fire alarm, ejectors, and kitchen equipment.
    • Negotiates project contracts under the direction of the FM Director.
    • Manages activities concerning technical development and scheduling.
    • Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Responsible for constant state of readiness to comply with EOC, Life Safety and Emergency Preparedness survey inspections, preparation and document requirements.
    • Ensures that the public schools health system is in compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations. 
    • Conduct regular and ongoing building inspection tours to ensure that general maintenance and aesthetic issues are identified, and appropriate resolution is initiated
    • A valid driver’s license is required, and a Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed prior to employment
    • Ensure that the schools meet all life/safety/building requirements, including compliance with all fire codes

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • a proven track record of successful Facilities experience as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments;
    • proficient technical knowledge on: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, safety systems - including not limited to fire alarm systems, commercial kitchen equipment, elevators, intercom systems, architectural, landscape and energy management - preferred;
    • Other technical proficiency in DDC and Pneumatic, temp control systems operations, water treatment, and BMS is a plus;
    • demonstrated business and financial acumen with P&L understanding;
    • exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills;
    • proficiency in work order management systems and Microsoft suite;
    • Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) is a plus.

    Position Summary

    Supervises hourly staff providing facilities maintenance and engineering services to clients. Responsible for work force planning, QA training, and administrative functions of the designated area of supervision. May report to GM in smaller accounts, or to an Ops Manager in a larger account, or to another manager level.
