    Sodexo at Bethel University in Mishawaka, IN has an immediate opening for a Conference Services and Sales Manager. Reporting to the General Manager and Bethel CFO, the Conference Services and Sales Manager handles the Sales, Planning and Coordination of internal and external Conference and Catering activities booked at the University - including Founder's Dinner, Graduation, special admission's events, summer camps (overnight and day), receptions, external group events, and events such as groundbreakings, openings, and dedications.

    As Conference services and Sales Manager, you will generate new leads, community contacts, develop new sales, secure event sites, room reservations, audio-visual support, making travel plans, and provide complex and diverse administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the University (draft, edit and finalize individual communications, manage select mass mailings, process invoices, purchase orders, and other budget forms).

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record:

    • Successful Conference Center Sales and Event management; and ability to generate new leads, network with local, state and surrounding state's community businesses, Chamber of Commerce; 
    • High volume Catering and catering logistics, casual and fine dining, and banquet management;
    • Managing multiple events including:  coordinating and implementing event logistics, researching and assisting with vendor selection including negotiating contracts with vendors; and preparing event budgets, processing and reconciling expenses, preparing financial reports;
    • Researching, compiling, and analyzing data to create reports, proposals and other documents for administration leadership;
    • Coordinating all aspects of catering events: to include hiring/scheduling student workers, menu planning, dietary restrictions, supply orders, room set ups, and invoicing;
    • Maintaining calm and courteous demeanor and to work productively in the midst of competing priorities, complex problems, and tight deadlines; excellent time management skills
    • Experience in high volume activity, employee training, labor management and control systems;
    • Providing leadership, supervision and direction for assigned personnel;
