Sodexo Leisure Group has an exciting opening for an Executive Chef for the Chase Center in Wilmington, DE. This Executive Chef will have full culinary responsibility for the dining services provided by Sodexo at this Convention center visitor venue. Sodexo prides itself on cutting edge menus and beautifully crafted events. Because Sustainability is the mission of Sodexo Leisure as well as our clients, you must be knowledgeable and passionate about sustainable cooking practices and local products. The ability to create artisan products in a scratch cooking environment is a must. We require that you demonstrate experience creating, costing, training and executing specialty menus for catered events in a highly competitive marketplace with high culinary expectations.
The ideal candidate will have:
•Extensive culinary experience with high-volume & very high end catering
•Creative menu development with focus on sustainability and conservation and understanding of food trends
•A culinary degree &/or high-end culinary program experience
•Experience with food and labor management systems
•A solid background of training and leading a culinary staff & focus on food safety
•Flexibility to work varied shifts as dictated by business needs.
If you have experience as an Executive Chef at a Convention, Conference or Large Event Center facility with at least 75,000 sq. foot of event space, conducting over 500 events annually, onsite as well as offsite, we want to talk to you!

The Chase Center is part of the scenic Wilmington Riverfront, located along the winding Christina River, halfway between New York City and Washington, D.C. As a nationally recognized IACC conference center facility, we host single and multi-day events, meetings and conferences.
Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
- Manages food & physical safety programs.
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
