    Universities Senior Vice President Operations (Midwest)


    The SVP of Operations is a high growth role providing executive leadership for internal operations within the Midwest for the Universities segment. This is a high growth role and experience is required, demonstrating the ability to grow an operation from 225mm to 300mm within a few years. Critical success factors are; the ability to lead, deploy, and execute the growth and retention targets for the region. This is intensive human-capital business with decentralized teams working in client premises. Leading a very large group of around 5,000 front-line and 350 management employees. Provide support to identify innovative solutions to challenging and complex problems. Responsible for meeting/exceeding defined revenue and profitability targets and performance KPIs. In this role you are responsible to champion the identification, development and succession of talent to ensure continuity and growth of the business. This position will be based in Chicago or Minneapolis.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

    • Establish, manage, and own annual operating budget cost. Focusing on “middle of the page”, CUGR, and gross profit.
    • Own and drive the economic and commercial performance of your geography
    • Responsible for designing operational structure that reflects the go to market strategy
    • Leads a staff of direct reports consisting of Operations Vice Presidents and District Managers
    • Cultivate and maintain your Web of Influence both internally and externally with clients in an effort to understand and meet our consumers unique needs
    • Develop and lead strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in the areas of customer service, client centricity, quality, and operational standards.
    • Effectively partner with internal stakeholders of regions (e.g., Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing) to drive successful cross functional sustainable growth outcomes
    • Encourage creative thinking to meet the demand of an evolving market
    • Works with speed and agility focused on the key drivers of the business to ensure long term sustainable growth
    • Sets clear expectations and provides timely and relevant feedback to direct reports (for developing and improving performance) and holds them accountable for doing the same with their teams
    • Develop change management initiatives designed to build a culture of performance and innovation.
    • Must be able to consistently hire and build strong talent along with the ability to coach and mentor a team.
    • Create and improve upon a strong culture of safety and quality
    • Must be decisive and possess “big picture” perspective enforcing accountability across the geography while inspiring team members at the same time.
    • Ability to negotiate and influence in the changing market economy
    • Provide direction and leadership regarding changing market conditions to build a short term and long term plan aligned with segment and group strategy.




    Position Summary

    Responsible for leading all activities and teams for a specific activity sector or geographic area in a regional segment. Leading the business to achieve economic and commercial performance and managing talent in scope. Reports to the Regional Segment Head.
    -Lead the division team to deliver on our Quality of Life positioning and achieve a safe working environment that meets or exceeds economic and commercial performance
    -Work with the Regional Segment Head to develop and implement the segment strategy within the division and more widely in the region to deliver sustainable, profitable growth and value for Sodexo clients and our business
    -Manage the division Sales team for the region to ensure that the new development and cross-selling development targets are met through solutions selling and development of a robust pipeline
    -Manage and develop the division talent in collaboration with HR and segment leadership

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    Basic Management Experience - 10 years

    Basic Functional Experience - 10 years of multi-unit, support, or strategic leadership experience
