    Sodexo is seeking a Food Inventory Control Manager for the Vandenberg Air Force Base located in Lompoc, CA.

     

    Position is contingent upon the candidate successfully completing a federal background investigation.

    Are you the experienced food service manager we’re seeking?

     

    We are looking for candidates who will:

    • have oversite of Airforce Base food storage facilities;
    • manage inventory controls for our food service program;
    • develop and place all food and supply orders;
    • receive all food and supply deliveries to include inspection of goods, labeling and dating product and storing in proper designated locations;
    • conduct food and physical safety training program;
    • develop and maintain procurement client relationships;
    • sets appropriate food storage guidelines;
    • assists with food production management;
    • Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures and
    • ensures Compliance Standards are met.

    The ideal candidate:

    • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
    • has food production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
    • has experience managing a storeroom preferably in a food service environment;
    • has experience overseeing inventory controls;
    • the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
    • has a ServSafe Food Handler Certification;
    • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
    • can demonstrate working knowledge electronic ordering systems.

    Position Summary

    First line supervisory position with responsibilities for inventory and inventory personnel who compile records of amount, kind, and value of merchandise, material, or stock on hand.

    Key Duties
    - Daily responsibility to leads inventory utilization efforts to include recording, documentation and analyzation of inventory data and metrics. Prepares client materials.

    - Forecasts inventory levels, equipment and people power requirements to achieve results.

    - Deletes slow-moving products, sets and controls minimum reorder points, sets critical usage levels and consistently testing market for better pricing.
    - Facilitates training & development for personnel. Resolves and investigates customer issues. Conducts inventory management training.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
