    Sodexo Campus Services is seeking a Field Marketing Specialist 1 to oversee the food service marketing program at North Carolina Central University located in Durham, NC! North Carolina Central University is a fast growing, nationally recognized HBCU located in Durham NC.  Our dining services are currently undergoing major changes with a significant number of nation retail brands coming to campus.  This position supports the on-campus dining team by creating, customizing, implementing and presenting marketing plans, strategies/programs, visual merchandising and managing social media related to the dining program.


    In this role, the Marketing Specialist interacts with internal team members, media and public relations personnel through social media, client stakeholders and customers in the formulation of promotional plans of action. This person will have a high level of customer contact and must be comfortable assuming a leadership position during promotional events and presenting/speaking to students, parents, faculty and staff. This position requires strong presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.


    The ideal Field Marketing Specialist will be experienced in marketing, creative, highly proficient with Publisher, Adobe and Photoshop, a strategic thinker, flexible, a team player, able to work well in a campus setting and interact with students to create a positive overall experience with dining services. Must have high energy, the ability to relate to our students, and possess great communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience with all types of social media marketing, website, and app development is a plus. Experience with food service operations is also a plus.

    • Develops and implements internal/external communication through Websites/Social Media/Innovation Sharing/Best Practices
    • Forges collaborative relationships to create transformative customer experiences
    • Establishes program awareness through a physical presence at site

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
