    Sodexo is seeking a Director, HR Business Partner to support Service Operations, a shared services team that includes IS&T, Supply, the Food Platform, Safety and Business Insights and Growth Services in North America.  We would prefer the selected candidate be based in our US Headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD however we will consider candidates working in the Northeast.

    Key accountabilities:

    Strategy Development

     

    • Translate business priorities into a human resource agenda that supports the business goals of the team and organization
    • Conduct strategic analysis and support execution of strategic plans

    Organizational Effectiveness

     

    • Proactively identify gaps, determine root cause, propose and implement changes to reduce risk
    • Drive performance improvement and provoke positive changes in people management and engagement
    • Partner with leaders on change management plans and communications strategies.
    • Facilitate organizational design to drive role clarity at the individual and team level
    • Analyze business/functional data to identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention and employee engagement
    • Knowledge of sound HR practices and processes
    • Collaborate with leadership to define meaningful development experiences
    • Distills complex information into key insights, clear recommendations, and action plans

     

    Talent Management

     

    • Actively participate in the selection of management level talent
    • Facilitate succession plans for key talent and key roles Collaborate with leadership to define meaningful development experiences
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition organization on forecasting needs and ensuring a strong talent pipeline
    • Provide candidate assessment

     

    Project and Program Management

     

    • Orchestrate the delivery and implementation of core human resources programs and processes in conjunction with HR Centers of Excellence and Regional Human Resources Business Partners
    • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members

     

    Sample of Key Responsibilities 

     

    • Lead HR partner for four areas in Service Operations (Business Insights and Growth Services, IS&T, Safety, Food Platform)
    • Participates in team calls and serves as the HR point person
    • Researches, advises and consults on all data and recommendations for costing management
    • Leverages HR and workforce analytics to designs and implement human resources programs to align with and achieve business objectives
    • Advises management on the formulation and administration of human resources (HR) policies and procedures
    • Posts, manages and monitors all job postings for areas of responsibility
    • Assumes lead on Key Human Resource Initiatives
    • Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
    • Manages budgetary objectives
    • Leads merit and annual incentive program for area of responsibilities
    • Works with client partners to design effective organizations
    • Manages projects for client teams and broader organization
    • Participates on project teams and task forces

    Position Summary

    As a strategic partner, advises management on the formulation and administration of human resources (HR) programs for a significant segment of business. Coaches and counsels management on a broad range of HR topics focused on driving employee performance, strategy and workforce planning to strengthen overall business performance.  Ensures alignment of HR policies in new business development and acquisition activities and facilitates effective onboarding and new unit opening processes.  Leverages HR and workforce analytics to designs and implement human resources programs to align with and achieve business objectives.  Fosters and ensures partnerships across HR functions to engage expertise required to both predict human resource needs and diagnose emerging trends.  Maintains a deep understanding of the business including financial position, mid and long range plans, key environmental factors and competitive indicators. 

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    Basic Management Experience - 5 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 5 years Human Resources experience
