    Sodexo's Banking Operations department in our Buffalo Service Center in Cheektowaga, NY has an opening for an Accounting Analyst.





    • Perform complex reconciliations for all Payroll related bank and liability accounts, including ADP Payroll accounts, through problem identification, research, resolution and all related analysis.
    • Perform daily critical Match Pay process for disbursement accounts to ensure proper cash control and to prevent loss from fraud.
    • Validate integrity of data loaded into Frontier on a daily basis using ADP and Frontier reports
    • Extensive use and manipulation of large electronic data files gathered from EDW, Frontier, bank websites and other sources into Excel and other software.
    • Identify incomplete or inaccurate time sensitive data on daily positive pay files and work with ADP, banks and Sodexo IT to resolve.
    • Work with ADP, Payroll Operations and Payroll Tax on resolution of all identified issues, including the Non-Check positive pay and general ledger postings
    • Provide required support to Sodexo personnel involved in the escheatment process
    • Provide support to Banking Management for work with internal and external auditors during their review of bank reconciliations.
    • Perform daily and period reconciliations of corporate level bank accounts, including problem identification, research, resolution and all related analysis.
    • Ensure complete documentation for all corporate bank account processes.
    • Provide recommendations to Banking Management of end-to-end process improvements for Banking processes
    • Special projects as needed


    Minimum Education/Experience Required:


    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is preferred
    • Minimum 3 years accounting experience
    • Experience with reconciliation of bank accounts preferred
    • Experience with EDW preferred

    • Demonstrated high degree of proficiency on use of computer applications in the accumulation, evaluation and interpretation of data

    • Must be a self-starter with high degree of initiative
    • Demonstrated analytical abilities

    Position Summary

    Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline.  Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.  Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers. Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
