Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef for our prestigious client, Villa Marin, in San Rafael, CA.  Villa Marin is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in San Rafael, that offers age 60+ residents an active and vibrant lifestyle. The community is located on a picturesque verdant campus, where residents enjoy a host of educational, cultural and wellness activities, along with a strong sense of friendships with fellow residents. We are seeking a highly motivated, and experienced Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager that will bring culinary creations to life.  In this hands on role, you'll use your innovation, creativity and skill to develop menus for all dining experiences.  We are open to chefs with seniors, healthcare, and/or restaurant leadership backgrounds.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
