Sodexo Universities Sports & Leisure is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 Catering and Concessions for the client at Kansas State University located in Manhattan, KS. Kansas State is a member of the Big XII family of schools and is located in Manhattan, Kansas.  Sodexo has the pleasure of providing food service the K-State Athletic Department.  K-State athletics is one of the top tiered athletics programs in the United States and it is growing. This is a highly visible position at a flagship account within Sodexo Universities. 

 

The Executive Chef 2- Catering and Concessions will manage multiple areas including: gameday events, and on/site offsite caterings.  The EC 2 will be directly responsible for menu generation, producing quality product, ordering product, inventory controls, systems implementations, and hiring and staffing.  The EC2 will work to ensure financial goals are being met and financial targets are aligned within the unit.  The EC2 will meet regularly with clients to offer new and innovative menu offerings.  This position will report directly to the General Manager at the account.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
Key Duties
- Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
- Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
- Manages catering & retail areas.
- Customer & Client satisfaction.
- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
